Watford Miniature Railway adds six new train coaches to fleet

The carriages, formerly used on the Isle of Mull Railway in Scotland, are set to undergo restoration before being reintroduced.

This long-term commitment to the railway's development reflects the board's efforts to ensure trains can keep running for many more years to come, organisers have said.

Purchasing the larger and longer carriages offers more space and roofs to protect rail enthusiasts from Britain's renowned summer showers.

A spokesperson for the company shared on Facebook: "We have recently purchased six coaches for restoration as part of our long-term improvement plans for the railway.

"We will be putting the coaches into store for the moment, with restoration starting once we have been able to replace our current cramped sheds with a larger, modern building which has the facilities and space for us to restore the coaches - more information on the shed project soon."

The enhancements signify a step toward the upgrade of the railway and its facilities as part of a long-term investment plan.
