The Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss CBE CStJ, has been appointed patron of West Herts Hospitals Charity.

The King's personal representative in the county, Mr Voss will now support the charity's development and local community involvement.

Among the charity's aims is securing innovative equipment beyond the NHS's financial reach and supporting initiatives to improve patient experiences and staff wellbeing, including the new wellbeing garden at Watford General and overseeing art expansion across the trust.

Mr Voss said: "I am delighted to be appointed a patron of West Herts Hospitals Charity.

"I am committed to supporting initiatives that improve healthcare outcomes and enhance the wellbeing of individuals within our community.

"I hope that I can be of some help to promote and expand the important work at West Herts Hospitals Charity."

Alison Rosen, CEO at West Herts Hospitals Charity, said: "We are immensely grateful to Robert for coming onboard as our first-ever patron.

"By working together, we're confident we can do even more to help West Herts NHS go further."

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appointed Robert Voss CBE CStJ Hon.LLD as Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire in 2017, a role he will hold until 2028.
