Workmen digging foundations for a building at the junction of Sandy Lodge Way and Sandy Lane, Moor Park, Rickmansworth, found bones which they thought were of archaeological interest because the site is near the Roman villa unearthed by members of Merchant Taylors’ School Archaeological Society.
The bones were sent to the school and identified as those of a cow which had been buried “at least 100 years ago”.
