Watford FC is planning to mark the five year anniversary of the death Captain Tom Sawyer with a minute’s applause before tomorrow’s match.
The 26-year-old died in an explosion while serving on the frontline in Helmand province in Afghanistan on January 14, 2009.
Captain Sawyer grew up in the town and was a lifelong Hornets supporter.
Watford FC said it will also be welcoming family and friends of Captain Sawyer for the fixture against Reading FC at Vicarage Road.
