Watford FC will mark fifth anniversary of former soldier Captain Tom Sawyer's death at Reading FC match
Captain Tom Sawyer died in an explosion while serving on the frontline in Helmand province in 2009.
Watford FC is planning to mark the five year anniversary of the death Captain Tom Sawyer with a minute’s applause before tomorrow’s match.
The 26-year-old died in an explosion while serving on the frontline in Helmand province in Afghanistan on January 14, 2009.
Captain Sawyer grew up in the town and was a lifelong Hornets supporter.
Watford FC said it will also be welcoming family and friends of Captain Sawyer for the fixture against Reading FC at Vicarage Road.
