Residents in Radlett and Aldenham who are under 25 have been invited to apply for a grant of up to £800 for an expedition or project.

To apply for a Platt Award, applicants must show sufficient drive and initiative to be planning an expedition or project away from home where the will face a variety of physical and intellectual challenges.

These challenges could be provided by the Scout Association, a school, university or gap year schemes arranged by charities or specialist organisations.

Awards, from £200 to £800 are granted to an individual rather than as a contribution to general funds.
