Former Watford FC star, Clarke Carlisle, to give talk at Soul Survivor church in Watford
The highs and lows of being a professional footballer will be discussed when former Watford FC star Clarke Carlisle visits a Watford church next month.
After his chairmanship of the Professional Footballers' Association, appearances on BBC's Question Time and an acclaimed documentary on racism in football, Carlisle is renowned as one of the country’s most eloquent and thoughtful sportsmen.
Clarke has played in all four divisions of the English league and promises a revealing and compelling account of his time as a footballer and at the PFA.
He will also tell his own complex personal story and examine his career, having battled alcohol problems and career-threatening injuries; from his early days playing for England Under-21s to a late arrival in the Premier League with Burnley.
He will speak at Soul Survivor church in Greycaine Road, Watford, at 6.30pm on Friday, February 7.
Tickets are limited and cost £5 (proceeds will be donated to charity) and can be booked by calling the booking office on 01923 204200.
