The Mayor of Watford visited a new £42 million mental health facility based in Radlett this week.
Dorothy Thornhill visited Harper House, Kingsley Green, based at the former Harperbury Hospital site near Radlett, to see how building work was progressing.
The new build will deliver care and support for service users with mental health problems, and is due to open in May 2014.
The site will include five specialist wards and a café.
Dorothy Thornhill said: "Mental health has been the ‘Cinderella’ of the health service for far too long. I am delighted that in this instance patients will be getting top notch facilities and treatment which is something we can all be proud of."
