A woman is raising money for the special care baby unit that cared for her daughter.

Michelle Brooks has organised a Ladies Pamper and Shopping evening to be held at Apsley Community Centre in the coming weeks.

The event will raise money for Watford Special Care Baby Unit at Watford General Hospital.

Ms Brooks, who works for Forever Living Products, said: "I would like to raise funds for Watford SCBU as they saved my daughter’s life. She was born full term after a normal pregnancy, but unfortunately the birth was a bit traumatic and she ending up needing care in SCBU for 10 days.

"The Doctors and nurses in SCBU were amazing and I am so thankful to them for enabling her to have a normal, happy life.

"I have always wanted to do something to express my thanks, and a Pamper Evening fits in well with my business. It also gives ladies a chance to be pampered at a lower cost than usual."

Massage, manicures and reflexology will be among the treatments on offer on the evening, which will take place on February 28 between 7pm and 10pm.
