The environment agency has issued a new flood alert for The Upper River Colne at Radlett Brook following more rain yesterday.

A statement on the website said: "Following some heavy showers on Wednesday the levels in the River Colne have risen and may have caused flooding to low lying lands and roads in the Colney Heath and London Colney areas. Levels have fallen overnight and currently we are not expecting the river to reach the same as those experienced at the weekend.

"Blustery scattered showers are expected throughout Thursday, and further unsettled weather is likely on Friday. The ground is saturated, so rivers are sensitive and could rise in response to further rainfall."

The alert was issued at just after 5pm yesterday.
