If you are thinking about going don't bother, the first meeting they will all be nice to you and tell you how wonderful BNI is, you will after the meeting get herded into a corner for half hours sales pitch and get told, "sign up now", "don't lose your place", blah blah blah, truth is it really is a waste of time and money, granted a few do make money, but what they want is a continual churn of people. You MUST going training courses, you MUST bring visitors, you MUST bring referrals, you are not allowed to be late, and if you miss three meetings? Your out and no refunds. I was a member in Ricky for 2 years and wished I never joined, yes I met a few good contacts, but if you ask friends and family (as they will tell you) you will get the same results. You will be asked to do unpaid jobs, "meeter and Greeter" "Visitor Host" or even "chapter director" which sounds great, but they will get rid of you just as easy as any other member, also all these "jobs" involves getting up even earlier, and staying later than other members, and taking up more precious time in your working day. Take your own money and invest it in your own time, with friends, family, Watford Chamber, or even BRX which is similar but not as strict.
Google : BNI reviews, or Ivan Misner the chap who started BNI, its all a money making franchised business for them, and you my friend, if you join you will at the bottom of the pile!
