Police are hunting the driver of a BMW after an allegation he may have been carrying a gun during a dispute with another motorist in Garston.
Hertfordshire Constabulary said an argument broke out between the driver of a blue BMW six series and a Honda Civic in the North Orbital Road (A405) at around 7.20pm last night.
The driver of the Civic alleged the other motorist, a black man in his 40s, had a gun in his pocket before leaving the area and driving towards Leavesden.
PC Christopher Jones said: “Whilst the victim has told officers he believed the offender had a gun in his pocket at the time of the incident, I would like to reassure members of the public that no gun has been seen and the offender did not claim to have a gun or threaten to use a gun at any point.
“However, we are treating this matter seriously and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a dark blue BMW six series to contact me with information.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via its non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number C4/14/539.
