Determined hikers pulled on their walking boots and stepped out in the spring sunshine for a strenuous walk to raise funds for Peace Hospice Care.

The four strong team began their 20 mile trek at the hospice in Rickmansworth Road, Watford, and wandered over land, field, hills, valleys, footpaths and the occasional pub garden.

Their arduous trail not only included pacing through mud, but putting their feet up for a well-deserved pint.

Walker Helen Liversidge said: "‘It was an amazing walk. We hiked through the Hertfordshire Way and Ver-Colne Valley walk and really were keen to complete the twenty mile circuit for the hospice."

The event raised more than £1,000 for Peace Hospice Care.

A challenging River Run is the next event taking place for Peace Hospice Care.

This two mile obstacle course on Saturday, March 29, is designed to push the toughest competitors to the limit. Last minute places are available.
