A dance school in Bushey recently celebrated 25 years with a "spectacular" dance show, including performances from the school’s 200 pupils.

Lorraine's School of Dance & Drama on Lincoln Field teaches ballet, modern, tap, jazz, drama and singing, starting from pre-school beginners all the way through to advanced major grades.

Principal Lorraine O’Hanlon began her professional dance career at the age of 16 making her West End debut at age 17.

Mrs O’Hanlon, who lives on Radlett road, said: "I cannot believe we are already at 25 years.

"The show was spectacular with current and old pupils. It is something I will always remember.

"I am very proud of the school, which is a real family school- three of my teachers started at the school at three and stayed here.

"I also have a few past pupils whose children now come here.

"It is great to be able to pass on my love of dance. I wanted to pass on my passion so all children could have the opportunity to enjoy dance."

Past pupils of the school have gone on to dance in London’s West End, X-factor, on cruise ships and in musical videos.

Chris Cuming attended the school from four years of age.

The 24-year-old said: "For me Lorraine gave me the foundations to move onto the work I do today, as a director and choreographer teaching at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

"Lorraine's school of dance was a second home for me and Lorraine became a second mum to me and other students as you spend a huge part of your life there, for me from the age of four to eighteen. Your classmates become friends for life it's a real family, something special to Lorraine's.

"It the foundations you get at Lorraine's are imperative and important for practitioners and for anyone.  Well it certainly was great for me."
