Hundreds of children took part in an annual rugby tag festival between Three Rivers and Watford.

Fullerians Rugby Club hosted the Three Rivers and Watford School Sports Partnership Tag Rugby Festival on Thursday, with more than 400 children taking part.

The festival, organised in partnership with the Saracens Sport Foundation, was supported by sports leaders from Francis Combe Academy, St Clement Danes School and St Joan of Arc Catholic School.

A total of 40 teams from half as many schools took part in a day of tag rugby.

Harvey Road Primary School was victorious after a close final against Divine Saviour and both schools will go on to represent the partnership at the Hertfordshire School Games finals.

Sam Berry, the partnership’s school games organiser, said: "It is a fantastic event, with a huge number of children taking part.

"We are proud to host one of the largest tag rugby festivals in the county and are thankful to the Saracens Sport Foundation for all of their hard work in getting more children into rugby."
