Details of the candidates nominated for the forthcoming local elections have been published.

Elections are being held for 13 seats across Hertsmere, including four in Bushey.

The council holds ‘elections by thirds’ which means that elections are held each year for three successive years out of four.

Six wards have two councillors and will go to the polls twice over a four year period to elect one of the councillors for their ward.

Nine wards have three councillors, so will vote in three consecutive years in a four year period.

From May 2015 whole council elections may take place once every four years if the council decides to change the voting system later this year.

The elections will take place on May 22.
