Young entrepreneurs can take part in a business challenge to raise money for Watford and Three Rivers charities.

The Watford and Three Rivers Trust (W3RT) is going ahead with the Dragon’s Apprentice Challenge Programme in 2014/15.

The 2013/14 challenge has raised almost £27,000 for local charities through the commendable efforts of the 12 teams of Year 12 school students who took part.

Ian Port, interim director of W3RT Connect, formally announced that the trust is now recruiting schools, colleges, businesses and charities for the next challenge, which will be launched in September 2014.

Mr Port also confirmed that the Watford-based JPM Group have agreed to be a co-sponsor for the programme and said that "the trust hopes it will be the first of many businesses, who will support the programme in 2014/15".

Philip Green, business development director from JPM Group, said "The challenge makes a significant financial contribution to local charities, whilst also providing excellent development opportunities and business experience for Year 12 students.  The JPM Group is proud of its commitment to giving back to the local community, and we hope our financial support will help ensure another inspiring and successful year for the Trust’s programme."
