Herts Aid launches volunteer recruitment drive
HIV and sexual heath charity Herts Aid is launching a volunteer recruitment drive at its office at the Wellbeing Centre in St Albans Road, Watford.
The aim is to get more people across the county involved in its work, supporting people living with HIV and providing sexual health education and testing services.
The charity is currently recruiting volunteers in a number of different roles including Befrienders offering one to one support for people living with HIV; drivers providing transport to appointments; fundraisers organising and running events; administration staff; and event support helping at lunches and meetings.
Herts Aid director Suzanne Bannister said: "Our volunteers are a vital and valued part of the team at Herts Aid. Without them we couldn’t offer the range of support and education services we do.
"As little as a couple of hours a week could make a huge difference to local people living with HIV, so if you think you can spare the time, please get in touch to find out more."
All Herts Aid volunteers are given training relevant to their role, on-going support and their expenses are paid.
As well as helping others, volunteering often helps those doing it to develop transferrable skills and can sometimes lead to other employment opportunities.
For an informal chat or to request an application pack email email@example.com or telephone 01920 484784 and ask for the volunteer co-ordinator.
