Motorists are facing long delays across Watford after a lorry and van crashed on the M1 this morning.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the southbound carriageway of the M1, near junction 5, at 5.55am.
The southbound road had to be shut between junction 4 and junction 6a at 6.10am.
Part of the northbound carriageway also had to be closed as a precaution while the emergency services established if there was a need for an air ambulance.
Both vehicles had to be recovered and all lanes had reopened by 7.30am.
Traffic has eased slightly but motorists are still being affected by the delays across Waford.
