Women and young girls in Hertsmere are being encouraged to kick-start their fitness by taking part in kickboxing and street self-defence.

The women-only class will help with fitness and self-defence through a unique partnership between Hertsmere Borough Council and Shaolin Kickboxing Club.

The classes are part of the ‘We move, she moves’ scheme, a new project supported by the council and developed through £162,750 of National Lottery funding from Sport England’s Community Sport Activation Fund to help get women and girls in Hertsmere moving.

Classes are every Tuesday, between 5pm and 6pm for 14 to 16-year-olds at Bushey Academy Sports Hall.
