Imagine Watford - the town’s outdoor arts festival - kicked off in High Street today with a street theatre performance.
The Itinerant Music Hall took over the pavement outside Superdrug with an upright honky-tonk piano and tumble down stage - strapped onto a bicycle.
The singing, dancing and storytelling troupe proved a hit with shoppers.
Lyn Watford, of Nascot Wood Road, said: "It’s great. It makes popping into town a pleasure - the presentation is excellent."
Nina Reda, 44, of Hagden Lane, said: "I come every year and it’s never let me down. It’s a nice community thing and brings everyone together."
Organiser Mathew Russell said: "It’s the fourth year of the Imagine Watford festival.
"It’s grown year on year, last time 88,000 attended over the course of the 11 days.
"Imagine is a nationally acclaimed street arts festival and a lot of the productions have been made for these Watford performances."
The festival continues daily until Sunday, June 29, with productions set to include dance, music, drama, art installations. All events are free to attend.
