Police are hunting a suspect after a man was held at knifepoint and robbed in Rickmansworth.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the 33-year-old victim was approached as he walked along Uxbridge Road at around 10.20pm on Tuesday July 1.

He was then threatened and led to Cedars Avenue where the attacker demanded he hand over any valuables.

After the victim gave his money he was led back to Uxbridge Road before the robber ran off down an underpass on Ebury Road.

The suspect is described as a white male of between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 8ins tall. He was of a medium build and wearing a white t-shirt, black woolly hat and a black scarf covering his face.

Detective Constable Paul Burton is investigating and said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around these times and perhaps saw someone loitering or acting suspiciously matching the description of the suspect to contact me."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Burton on 01923 472284 or via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number C2/14/1370. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111

Phil Cox (UKIP) says...

Are the police only allowed to describe the offenders clothes now?

"Police are looking for a hat with a criminal under it. The suspect is believed to be aged between 1 and 100".

Not much to go on, is it?

Political correctness gone mad?

Honest Rog says...

A white male, height, build and clothing are described. Only missing is a guess at his age so wtf is the spokesman for the Daily Wail party on about. Oh hang on, I know. He's disappointed that the attacker wasn't described as having an Eastern European accent.
Never mind Reg/Phil. Another bandwagon'll be along soon.

Meanwhile I hope Plod get this guy and that the victim is OK.
