A team of runners from a primary school in Bushey won four out of the five school trophies on offer at a race on Sunday.

Children aged from four to 11 years at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School took part in the Spire Bushey 10K and Junior Races run by Purple Patch.

The event took place at Queen’s School.

Carolyn Hatch at the school said: "We are very proud of all our children who have worked really hard on their running and fitness levels.

"They have all received medals and some of the children were awarded individual medals coming 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th place in their races."

The children also had a visitor from Great Ormond Street Hospital. During a special assembly the children presented her with a cheque for over £608.

They had raised the money through a ‘Big Picture’ Show where each child designed a piece of art work which they then sold. All profits were donated to GOSH.
