A notice of forfeiture was seen in the window of town centre venue Cameo today.

The club posted on social media website Twitter: "Cameo is officially closing due to rent not being paid. Please direct enquiries to @Oceana_Watford."

The notice said the landlord had instructed bailiffs to enter the premises on The Parade and change the locks, forfeiting the current lease.

Today the doors of Cameo had been left padlocked together.

Watford Observer:

Late Night Watford and Gatecrasher Holdings Limited are run by CEO Simon Raine.

In August last year, Gatecrasher underwent a corporate restructuring which saw its venues in Leeds closed down.

But Gatecrasher said the move would secure the future of Watford Cameo.

Mr Raine is currently in Ibiza and was unable to comment on the forfeiture today.

Cameo opened at Gade House in 2012.

The previous nightclub at the venue, Area, had imposed forced closure by Watford Borough Council for a number of licence breaches.

Gatecrasher came back with Cameo and bar Bed at the premises after a major refurbishment and rebranding of the club.

The notice signed today, which was left by Certificated Bailiffs & Security Consultants MS Webb, said the club has 21 days to collect any items left in there, after which time they will be sold or disposed of.

It said: "Any persons who attempt to re-enter these premises without the landlord’s consent will result in criminal/civil proceedings against them."

Is this going to be yet another gross waste of money from the serious farce office? Why not try them now if the evidence is there? Anyone found guilty shouls apart from a prisob sentence of moderate term, confiscation of property they should be banned from holding any financial position not just in london but worldwide !

Good club, shame its now closed and ruined by bad management.

Or though, who's the landlord? Surely it's not Intu Properties {formerly Capital Shopping} who owns many other premises in the hight street.

Though these not many bars, clubs in the high st that there use to be. Or is this another area where Dottie/mayor wants to ruining for all, so she can have her own way again - a family entertainment - sod the rest.

wasn't the Watford equivalent of TOWIE supposed to be associated with this place? Hopefully the closing means that horrible idea is dead too!

This is very cunning. After the financial problems Greece has had, another closed down business does indeed give the town centre a ' Mediterranean feel'.
