A Northwood hospice is looking for participants willing to be locked up for charity.

Michael Sobel Hospice, based at Mount Vernon Hospital, is holding a Jail and Bail fundraising event where participants will be arrested and locked up overnight for charity.

The event will take place on Friday, October 3 and those who enter the challenge will be asked to raise £1,000 before the day or spend time in a cell at Ruislip Police Station.

Those who don’t raise the money will be arrested by police officers at the hospice and taken to jail where they can use a mobile phone and a list of contacts to call until the full bail amount is raised.

Trish Mule, community fundraiser at the hospice, said: "This will be a challenging but very entertaining event. This event will not only raise vital funds but also help to raise the profile of the hospice."

The charity hopes to raise at least £10,000 during the event as part of the £1.5 million the hospice needs annually to maintain the current level of patient care at the hospice.

Anyone interested in being jailed and bailed for charity can contact Trish Mule on 01923 844726 or email tmule@michaelsobellhospice.co.uk
