The new autumn programme of events has been unveiled by the Watford and District Association of the National Trust.

Topics for discussion will include two Georgian country houses in the Chilterns on Thursday, September 4; historic royal palaces on October 2; the spirit of the Stalags on November 6 and there will also be a special musical evening on December 4.

All meetings take place at the Stanborough Centre in St Albans Road from 8pm on the first Thursday of the month.

Outings arranged include Cliveden on September 16, and Halton House and Hughenden Manor on October 16. 

And, on November 19, there will be a pre-Christmas lunch at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking which will include a virtual vineyard tour. 

The association is currently accepting new members and the annual subscription is £12 with a £2 charge for a single evening.
