An entertaining game took place at Vicarage Road between Watford and Bristol Rovers.
Without a win in four, the Hornets' promotion challenge had been in danger of faltering for the first time, but a Gifton Noel-Williams strike and a Ronnie Rosenthal lob provided a 2-0 half-time lead.
Rovers came back strongly after the break, eventually equalising when Jamie Cureton turned in the rebound after Alec Chamberlain had saved his penalty.
The last word was Tommy Mooney's; picking the ball up on the left of the area he ploughed through several challenges and thumped in the winner across the face of goal from virtually level with the goal line, before being swamped by teammates and supporters.
