Watford entertained Burnley in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup at Vicarage Road.
Partially in the light of the financial consequences of the collpase of ITV Digital, the clubs agreed beforehand to share the financial proceeds of victory irrespective of the result.
As it turned out, the Hornets were the victors in a scrappy game on a muddy pitch. Tommy Smith scored an untidy first and Stephen Glass added a second with a deceptive free kick to secure a semi-final place against Southampton.
