Vicarage Celtic reached the semi final of the West Herts Junior Charity Cup after a hard fought 2-1 win against Hadley B.

The Celts started the stronger of the two sides and had a couple of chances in the early stages of the game.

But it wasn't until the 21st minute that they made the breakthrough. Leading scorer Connor Flanagan was put through by Jamie Gallagher and he confidently finished.

Celtic continued to apply pressure. With five minutes of the first half remaining, an Ashley Toomey corner was headed towards goal by Jordan Toomey but the Hadley goalkeeper produced a fine one handed save.

Hadley began the second period brightly and they pulled level 15 minutes after the restart. Neither team were able to find a winner in normal time and the contest went to extra time.

The Celts dominated the additional 30 minutes as their substitutes freshened up the side.

Gallagher played a role in the winning goal as he was fouled in the penalty area and Flanagan dispatched the spot kick to secure victory.

Celtic will take on Balmoral FC in the last four.
