Watford are odds on favourites to pick up another home win against struggling Barnsley this weekend.

The Hornets have struggled away recently but it has been a completely different story at Vicarage Road where they have racked up five consecutive victories without conceding a goal. This exceptional record explains why they are just 8/13 with Ladbrokes to take three points tomorrow.

But it seems stupid to ignore this trend so backing Watford to win to nil looks a much better value bet at 13/8 with Paddy Power.

Barnsley hardly come into the game with great form and have just one away win all season.

Their last result against Watford does not inspire confidence either as they were hammered 5-1 at home back in September. The Hornets have won the last four home matches against the Tykes and are unbeaten in five clashes at Vicarage Road.

Barnsley come into the contest with major defensive problems, with two of their centre-backs – Martin Cranie and Peter Ramage – sidelined through injury, so it would not be a surprise if Watford defeated them comfortably again. Backing more than 2.5 goals at 20/21 with Ladbrokes is a tempting option.
