Twins Ralph and Haydn Williams returned from the Hertfordshire County Championships with an eight-medal haul.

The Year 8 Parmiter's School pupils were competing in the under-13 age category across several athletics events at the Championships in Stevenage.

Haydn started with a silver medal in the javelin and followed that up with a bronze in the long jump despite only jumping once.

Ralph earned a bronze medal in the 200m after securing a new personal best time of 29.41 and the twins then lined up against each other in the sprint hurdles.

The duo both produced fine runs but it was Haydn who crossed the line in first place with a time of 13.59. Ralph had to settle for second but was just 0.07 seconds behind his brother.

Ralph went on to win the high jump with a new personal best of 1.30m and the duo then competed in the club relay race which led to two more gold medals.
