Division Nine

Kings Langley Thirds ended Sandridge Seconds’ unbeaten run as they secured a 45-run win.

A poor performance with the bat didn’t prove costly for Kings – they could only reach 118 before being dismissed.

Sifan Naeem grabbed the majority of the runs as he scored 49 while Russell Knights made 29.

The young bowlers of Kings Langley again proved to be very good prospects. David Burnell took five for 28 and Toby Hendy ended with three wickets.

Harry Misslebrook and the experienced Gordon Sambidge took a wicket apiece to complete the win.

Rickmansworth Thirds succumbed to a five-wicket defeat against Harpenden Dolphins.

Ricky batted first but were poor and looked in serious trouble with the score at 34 for six. However, an impressive display from Emerey D’Sylva – who top-scored with 90 – gave the home side a chance. It ultimately proved not to be enough however as Dolphins chased down the runs they needed for the loss of five wickets and with ten overs to spare.

The mediocre batting performances continue for Leverstock Green Thirds who were beaten by Greenwood Park by 64 runs.

Teenage seamer Chrishan Casey impressed with the ball as he took five for 30 as Park were restricted to 145.

However, only Steve May (13) offered support to captain Gareth Tucker’s mid-order 24 as Hemel collapsed to 81 all out.

Division 11 West

Hemel Hempstead Fifths were beaten by three wickets by Redbourn Thirds despite scoring more than 200 from their innings.

Neil Morgan was impressive with the bat and he scored 80 as Hemel ended with an imposing total of 214 for eight from their allotted overs.

It wasn’t enough for victory however as Redbourn chased down the runs they needed with three wickets to spare.

Trevor Radcliffe (four for 65) and Jack Boughton (two for 32) were the stand-out Hemel bowlers.

Division 12 West

Rickmansworth Fifths’ best score of the season wasn’t enough as they were beaten by five wickets against Frogmore Seconds.

Paul Blackwell led the way for Ricky as he carried his bat for an unbeaten 100 – his first century for the club.

Fifteen-year-old Henry Hinley also added a well-constructed 44 to help Rickmansworth declare on 195 for three.

Hinley then claimed two Frogmore wickets but the visitors were too strong and they cruised to victory with three overs to spare.

The result means the Ricky side are yet to taste victory this season.
