One of Beppe Sannino's assistant coaches - Alfredo Sebastiani - has left Watford.

Sebastiani was one of four coaches to arrive at Vicarage Road when Beppe Sannino was appointed as head coach in December. The other three were Francesco Troise, Giovanni Cusatis and goalkeeping coach Paolo De Toffol.

Watford confirmed Sebastiani had left the club and also that he was the only first team member of staff to depart.

Sebastiani joined Watford from FC Sudtirol, who play in Lega Pro, the third tier of Italian football. He had been youth coach at FC Sudtirol at the time of joining the Hornets and had also been manager during his 16-year spell at the club.

Perfect opportunity to bring in a British defensive coach to iron out some of the problems we've had in at least the last two seasons.

Cassetti, Almunia, now this guy!

Soon to be followed by Angella, Deeney,Ekstrand, Toszer and Merkel?

Who else will desert the sinking ship?

I think Nigel Gibbs is a great shout. Failing that, Malky Mackay - he must be desperate for a job by now...

It's a real shame as he was the only one that could speak English and we continue with De Toffel who is a goalkeeping coach along with Alec Chamberlain and De Toffel is 71 years old ?? This make's no sence at all

"and goalkeeping coach Paolo De Toffol". I must be well behind the times! I never knew that Alec Chamberlain was no longer the prime goalie coach. Two goalie coaches is one too many. None of our three goalies from season were Italian so why the need for yet another Italian coach?

Bristol's comments are a bit over the top, and Watford do need to get rid of lots of players aging or otherwise but he does also have a point. There are too many people coming and going in the backroom. We need to start apointing QUALITY to train and support the players. We need good coaches, coaches as good as those we have lost in the past couple of years. We have to have a steady transition to becoming a top club but, as far as the backroom is concerned, I don't see that we have taken even one step in that direction in the last few years. Of course the Pozzos are a refreshing change but can we please have some stability and some developmental progress. I'm not sure we need to be looking for coaches in the third tier of italian football anyway. I am beginning to think that the 'italian' part of this project should be dropped and it should be turned into a 'British Job'.

Bristol, are you Italian or do you have another excuse for your appalling use of the mother tongue?
