The Watford Observer confirmed the departure of outside-right Ted Bassett to Luton Town.

Bassett was later to provoke ire by writing to the club demanding a share of the £200 transfer fee involved, for which he was ultimately reported to the Football League.

Bassett had made 73 appearances for the club over two seasons - the club's last in the Southern League, and first in the third division.
