Peter Kennedy joined Watford from Notts County for a fee of £130,000.
Only a squad player at Meadow Lane, the left-sided Kennedy was to make 134 appearances in four years at Vicarage Road, scoring 22 goals; 13 of these, including a fine hat-trick at Roots Hall against Southend United, came in his debut season when he was the club's leading scorer from wing-back. He was a key player as the Hornets won the second division title.
Kennedy made his debut for Northern Ireland as a Watford player in 1999 before joining Wigan Athletic in 2001. He later played for Peterborough United, before returning to Northern Ireland.
