Watford will travel to Shrewsbury Town for a pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 19.

The game at New Meadow will kick off at 3pm and is the Golden Boys' first friendly in the UK this summer.

The Hornets were originally set to take on Stevenage on that date but that match was cancelled due to the two sides drawing each other in the League Cup first round.

You're older than I thought! It was 90/91 and Keith Dublin played sweeper in a Steve Perryman experiment which didn't go terribly well. We lost 4-1 and the drive back was every bit as long as you suggest.

It is a long old trip went there in '81 (no not THAT '81). We won and it still felt like forever to get back. Seem to remember singing "If it wasn't for the border, you'd be Welsh".
