A tribunal ruled that Watford should pay Brighton & Hove Albion £275,000 for Keith Dublin.
The Hornets, having offered £175,000, would have been marginally the happier with the verdict, the Seagulls having demanded £400,000.
A likeable if error-prone player, Dublin was to make almost 200 appearances for the club.
