Watford have confirmed wing-back Davide Faraoni has left the club and rejoined fellow Pozzo-owned side Udinese.

The 22-year-old was expected to leave Vicarage Road after he did not link up with the Hornets for their pre-season training camp in Italy and Austria.

Faraoni was linked with a transfer to Hellas Verona, Sassuolo and Palermo but has joined the Little Zebras for a second time.

The former Italian Under-21 international joined Watford on a permanent basis last summer and went on to make 43 appearances for the club in all competitions last season, scoring four goals.

He started his career at Lazio before joining Inter Milan in July 2010. He spent two years with the club before moving to Udinese in 2012.

However, after just one season with the Little Zebras, he moved on to Vicarage Road.
