Watford have confirmed wing-back Davide Faraoni has left the club and rejoined fellow Pozzo-owned side Udinese.

The 22-year-old was expected to leave Vicarage Road after he did not link up with the Hornets for their pre-season training camp in Italy and Austria.

Faraoni was linked with a transfer to Hellas Verona, Sassuolo and Palermo but has joined the Little Zebras for a second time.

The former Italian Under-21 international joined Watford on a permanent basis last summer and went on to make 43 appearances for the club in all competitions last season, scoring four goals.

He started his career at Lazio before joining Inter Milan in July 2010. He spent two years with the club before moving to Udinese in 2012.

However, after just one season with the Little Zebras, he moved on to Vicarage Road.

Best first touch I've seen in all my years at The Vic. Not really suited to the championship though. Not entirely sure he is a wing back either! Good luck to him elsewhere.

that's a shame, I really liked him from day one and didn't really change that opinion throughout last season.
he certainly put in the miles up and down the right-wing, never stopped and always looked like he was giving 100%.
best of luck to him in the future finding somewhere that suits him better.

Surprised by the love Faraoni's getting, especially all this nonsense about him having the best first touch seen in years at the Vic. A player who showed glimpses of skill, but who lacked the desire and commitment to get on the ball that often.

He was not the full product as Watford would have kept him if they wanted to, also we do not know if a replacement option is in the pipe lines thus the release, he was not consistent as a first team choice and to that end probably the best option for both parties imo.
