Kings Langley Under-13s lost out in the ECB Regional Finals, representing Hertfordshire.
Drawn against Northamptonshire champions Old Northamptonians in the semi-finals, Kings fell 40 runs short against their more experienced opponents.
As County champions for the last two seasons, Kings, pictured, had earned the right to represent Hertfordshire at the Regional Finals, held in Bishop’s Stortford.
Chasing 140 from 20 overs, Kings came up short in the semi-final, closing on 100 runs.
A better fielding performance in the third/fourth-place play-off saw Kings fall one run short of Colchester and East Essex’s total.
Set a target of 11s9 for eight, Kings Langley fell agonisingly short, reaching 118 for five.
