It’s been a difficult first half for Watford against Norwich City. The Hornets are 1-0 behind and down to ten men at Carrow Road.

Joel Ekstrand’s dismissal after just two minutes means the Golden Boys have come under heavy pressure throughout the opening period.

The Swedish defender was shown a red card for an off the ball incident that left Nathan Redmond with a bloody nose.

While the Hornets have managed to keep the Canaries at bay for the majority of the half, Norwich did break the deadlock in the 32nd minute.

The ball was played out to Bradley Johnson on the edge of the Watford area and the midfielder curled a perfectly weighted shot over Heurelho Gomes and into the top corner.

Watford have struggled to threaten the Norwich goal throughout the opening 45 minutes but Beppe Sannino will have to find a way to change that if his side are to take anything away from their first Championship away match of the season.
