Little Hay's Elaine Meagher has won the Ladies Championship of England Final.

After playing through extremely adverse weather conditions, Meagher emerged victorious in the National Association of Public and Proprietary Golf Clubs and Courses (NAPGC) event at the Southern Valley Golf Club in Kent.

Completing 18 holes of stroke play against 60 other ladies from around the country, Meagher recorded a gross score of 73 to win by six strokes over her nearest rival and lift the Ladies Championship trophy (The Roy Beckett & Peter Alliss Rose Bowl).

Craig Walker won Little Hay’s August Junior Stableford with a score of 46 points, enough to finish five ahead of George Rocca in second place.

Meanwhile, Caroline Banks won the Fressingwood Cup at Little Hay with a score of 37 points.
