Beppe Sannino has posted a message of thanks to Hornets' fans through his official Facebook page, promising to carry Watford supporters "forever" in his heart after being made to feel like "one of the family".

The 57-year-old resigned on Sunday evening, 24 hours after the Hornets beat Huddersfield Town 4-2 at Vicarage Road in his final match in charge.

Sannino left his post after eight-and-a-half months in charge at Vicarage Road, sharing a message with Watford supporters on his Facebook page.

"I would like to say thanks to the amazing supporters that have helped me to live a beautiful and incredible experience.

"Every single time I have been inside the Vicarage Road, it has been like living a dream, you have always made me feel one of you, inside but also outside of the stadium, in the streets of the city, I have never felt as a guest, but contrarily, one of the family.

"I will carry you forever in my heart and I will never forget you. I wish you the best. A greeting.

"Coach Beppe Sannino."

He did not carry the dressing room. May have helped and turned things around when Zola gave up the job but not the right guy for us. Beppe was at least honourable. He left when the cards were on the table that the Pozzos and the dressing room lost faith in him. He quit before given the boot. I do not agree entirely with the already posted comments. A decent and dedicated person but not the right stuff.

Beppe was a strange one alright, still not really sure what to make of him, but one thing's for sure - he had balls. To come over to England, on his own, 4 days before Christmas, not speaking a word of English, to take over a failing football team in a division he's never managed in before - that's guts. He gave up his pay- off from Chievo to do it as well, so hats off to him from me

If we aren't promoted this season then nanni should be sacked as he is in charge of players in and not the manager. They sacked dyche who promptly got promoted, didn't sack zola despite losing lots of games in a row and have now replaced a manager who is second with someone with a worse win ratio and who also is a known quitter, just because the same players, who proved against donny why they aren't in the team, don't like not playing! Nanni should be replaced asap if yet again their manager choices are failures and the manager should be allowed to run the team until results don't warrant them having the job!

You will be remembered with fondness by the supporters, particularly with your antics in the technical area. You always conducted yourself as a gentleman with us, even if we couldn't understand you!

Well said Robbo,

Very unlikely, I'm told from a close source he won't be looking for a job in England again at the moment. In fact, he doesn't intend rushing into a job at all. He's back home in Italy taking stock.

A man with a real hard working ethic, lots of desire and incredible passion for the game. For that you cannot fault him. It seems he didnt quite know where the line was I guess.
IMO opinion it's a shame he got ridiculed by some, after all he had the best intentions at Watford and seemed incredibly passionate about the job and OUR club.

Some said he was useless - slightly harsh for a man who came in and immediately stopped the rot with regards to our worst EVER home record and simultaenously set about setting records with regards to home wins and clean sheets. A useless manager would not be capable of that. Period.

Lets hope the new man is better equipped to take us up the league and manages to command greater respect from the players - who, lets face it, must be a pretty tough bunch to keep happy with their inflated egos.

Cheers Beppe. ....We appreciates it.

is it possible to be more two faced, doubt it.
If you were slightly more intelligent you might realise that the people paying their respects to Beppe are, in all probability, neither the people that wanted him out, nor those who slagged him off. Indeed, their was much support from Beppe on here and no doubt these 'warm fuzzies' pouring in are from those who supported him.
It's Not rocket science tbh.
you reckon do you Stoney?
you have done a careful analysis of all the posts on this subject and
then cross referenced them all with the previous historical posts made by
these various people.
After that you have come up with this insightful statement.
Your understanding of human nature is very limited at best.

Has a better win rate than Garcia, who exactly runs the team affairs? Who buys players that are then sent away as not working out in next to no time? Something's not right and its not the coach in my opinion
Say what you mean please.
I'm very concerned about the way Watford is going. The model that the coach is there just to coach the team and not have any input on the players purchased is madness in my opinion. The most successful club manager in English football history is Alex ferguson and he had total control of the club. Zola and Sannino didn't resign on the basis they couldn't take the club any further - that is just the club telling them to say that. They just didn't like the players that were bought and when they didn't play them they were sacked - sorry I mean they "resigned".
