Kings Langley cut Sun Sports’ lead at the top of the Premier Division with a 4-1 win over Biggleswade United on Saturday.

With leaders Sun losing 2-0 at home to London Colney, Kings capitalised to move within three points of Paul Hobbs’ side. Kings also boast the advantage of four games in hand.

In-form strike duo Jack Boyd and Mitchell Weiss both went close before Danny Hutchins raced down the flank and powered a shot into the far corner to open the scoring.

A second arrived when Alex Campana delivered an inch-perfect cross to the feet of Weiss, who just beat goalkeeper Rui Goncalves to the ball to double Kings’ lead.

Former Watford midfielder Ollie Cox saw a shot tipped around the post by Goncalves before Hutchins played in Campana to net the third from ten yards.

Captain Luke Ladyman saw a header disallowed as Kings controlled proceedings as the half drew to a close.

After the break Biggleswade posed a greater threat, with Reynaldo Carbon scoring to give the visitors hope.

That was extinguished for good when Campana forced home the fourth.

Oxhey Jets threw away a 3-1 half-time lead against Stotfold to lose 4-3, extending their winless run in the league to six games.

Jets made the breakthrough when Lee Armitt’s strike went in off the underside of the crossbar.

Wayne Gladdy’s side doubled their lead 60 seconds later when Armitt crashed a shot against the post, the ball rebounded for Tim O’Mara to tap home.

The third goal was perhaps more fortuitous. Luke Lloyd let fly from distance and his shot managed to squirm under the body of the visiting goalkeeper to put daylight between the sides.

Just before the break Stotfold got one back from a free-kick and a second followed after half-time from another set play.

By now Stotfold were in the ascendency and it was of little surprise when the visitors pulled level with 25 minutes remaining before striking the killer blow in the final minute.

Two second-half goals ensured Sun ended the month with a 2-0 defeat at home to London Colney.

Curtis Donaldson and Sim Armstrong had Sun’s best opportunities as the first half ended goalless.

After the break, goals from Greg Shaw and Elliott Bailey ensured the Blueboys took the points.

A second-half hat-trick from Josh Chamberlain saw Berkhamsted beat Hoddesdon Town 4-1 to reach the last eight of the Herts Senior Cup on Tuesday.

Jordon Frederick also scored for the Comrades, who dropped to third in the Premier Division after a 3-1 loss against Ampthill Town on Saturday.

Ampthill took a 2-0 lead before Chamberlain got one back for the visitors, who are now behind Kings Langley on goal difference.

Tring Athletic put in one of their best performances of the season to beat Wembley 2-0 on Saturday, with Chris Salmon and Taylor Collins on target.

On Tuesday Tring were knocked out of the Herts Senior Cup by Hadley, losing 2-0.

Leverstock Green were beaten 2-0 at home to Hodsdesdon Town on Saturday.
