This month marks the start of the festive season. At the BID we have been busy pulling together the Winter in Watford campaign with Watford Borough Council, Watford Colosseum, intu Watford and Watford Palace Theatre, providing a guide to what’s on in Watford during the Christmas period via a dedicated website www.winterinwatford.com.

Last month the town saw the opening of Debenhams and the intu extension, a real landmark for the town. The other units are gradually opening, adding to the town’s food and retail offering. Over the next few months we will see a marked change in town especially when the cinema opens in December – it is all very exciting.

This week I was delighted to meet with the store manager for the new Debenhams that will be opening in the intu centre. It opens on September 27 at 10am and rather excitingly, the first 300 customers through their doors will receive a luxury goody bag.

As the lovely weather continues, it provides the perfect backdrop for the summer events programme. Watford BID sponsored the Imagine Festival and the end of June, the highlight of the weekend for many was the spectacular evening event which attracted huge crowds to the town. This was followed by the arrival of the Big Screen

Summer is finally here and we hope you will have noticed the floral displays which have appeared throughout the town centre.
