Firefighters at Garston fire station welcomed a new addition to the team on Wednesday – an “eco friendly” fire engine.
The green machine has been made from bio-degradable plastic and fitted with low-emission technology. Watch Commander Lee Bishop said: “A lot of hard work has gone into the new design ensuring it has everything the crew needs.”
Local children have been given the chance to name the giant engine with a winner due to be announced in the next few weeks. Pictured from left: Russell Ward, crew commander Doug Shepard, Barry Hazeldine, Duncan McTavish and watch commander Lee Bishop.
