Bushey and Watford phab club members raise over £500 at Phab heart beat hike sponsored walk 2010

On Sunday 6th June 2010 16 members of Bushey and Watford Phab club attended Phab England Heart Beat Hike sponsored walk around Hyde park London and raised over £500. The 16 local Phab members joined over 400 Phab members and supporters from 35 local Phab clubs as well as Ed Stewart (Phab President) and the Majors of Westminster and Chelsea In Hyde park London for the annual sponsored walk / push around Hyde lido. The day started with the Phab members meeting at the band stand where the fancy dress (international teams theme) was judged. The walk was started by Ed Stewart and the Mayors and the phab members and supporters then started off on the walk / push (a maximum 4 laps of the lido half marathon distance or as much as the phab members could manage with their different abilities). During the day those attending had the chance to rest by the bandstand listening to various bands who donated their time to the day. The day was a fun day where the phab members not only raised funds for their phab clubs but had the chance to meet up with old and new friends from other phab clubs. Bushey and Watford Phab club members managed over a combined 30 laps of the lido and will have raised over £500 for use by the club in its integrated social activities, including social club nights, a weekend camping at phasels wood scout camp in July as well as other activities. The phab members would like to thank those who organised such an enjoyable event and the Phab supporters who have sponsored them.
