There is still a chance for teams to enter the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Race which is being held next month in Rickmansworth.
Watford Mencap are organising the fund raising event which will take place at 11am in the High Street on February 21, with the Three Rivers Council Chairman, Chris Whateley-Smith as the official starter.
Participants are being encouraged to wear fancy dress and they will have the chance to win a case of champagne, or if they are under 18, a slap up meal.
The prize is being put up by race sponsors the Coach and Horses in the High Street, who are also providing the pancakes and the pans.
The event will be held as a relay race and each team will need four participants. The money they raise in sponsorship will go to the charity which supports more than 500 people with a learning disability and their carers in South West Herts.
Volunteer organiser, Laurence Knight said: “There has been a good deal of interest already and this promises to be a well supported event.”
People interested in taking part are asked to email Laurence at LKnight@Watfordmencap.org.uk or phone 01923 713622.
