On Saurday 29th October 2011 the Lincolnsfields Childrens charity 1940s Living history Project hosted the North Bushey British Legion 2011 Poppy appeal launch at its Bushey site. the launch started with speaches of welcome from The chair of the lincolnsfields childrens charity Brian Linnegar, Chair ot the Hertfordshire British Legion who pointed out the good job the British legion does supporting our forces personel and the need for the money raised by the poppy appeal of which the Hertfordshire and North Bushey British legion branches have played a full part and will need to do so again this poppy appeal. the special guest David Bedford past olympic running champion and race director of the london marathon then spoke about the good work of the British Legion. The chaplain then did a short dedication service followed by the parade of British legion standards and presentation of poppy weiths ending with the last post and the National anthem. Those present at the launch included 2 county councillors, Watford council leader, members of the british legion, volunteers of the lioncolnsfields and members of the public. After the offical launch was over those present had tea in the Lincolnsfields Naffi cafe and were given tours of the 1940s living history projects military museum. (the rest of the 1940s living history project include the 1940s house was unavailible due to it being used for filmimg but will be open to the public on the sunday 30th October)
