On Wednesday 11th August, Clydesdales Bank and partners held a fun day at Shenley cricket ground for staff, customers and members of the community. Managing Partner of Clydesdale Bank Watford, Peter O’Gorman, was kind enough to invite Watford Mencap along and 9 teenagers from Watford Mencap’s Play Scheme attended.
The day started with master classes from runner, Steve Cram, Rugby star, Mike Catt and Cricket pros, Alec Stewart and Alastair Cook, before everyone settled down to a fabulous BBQ lunch. Other highlights of the day included face painting, bouncy castles and a ‘Hit the Stump’ competition.
Caroline Darnbrook, Head of Business and Private Marketing, explained: ‘The day is all about bringing families and communities together, to participate in sport and have a great day. It is also a celebration of the Clydesdale Bank 40 cricket competition. We are delighted Watford Mencap were able to attend’.
Clydesdale Bank, in Watford, is a great supporter of Watford Mencap, having previously supported the Watford 10K. We look forward to welcoming them to our Diamond Jubilee Ball in January.
